The Current Miss Idaho International

Lacey Vander Boegh was crowned the 2010 Miss Idaho International on September 26th, 2009 at the Nampa Civic Center in Nampa Idaho

Raised in a small town, Lacey witnessed the harsh realities of peer pressure firsthand, seeing its damaging effects ripple through the lives of many friends and classmates. Her platform is "Be Your Own Person- Don’t Bend to Peer Pressure” and Empowering Our Youth. Lacey has personally made a commitment to help our future generations understand the importance of standing strong against peer pressure by acting as a living example. She is a motivational speaker on this very topic, with a proven history of affecting positive change.

Throughout her life, she has learned that the ability to combat and resist peer pressure is one of the most important skills one can acquire.  In rural and urban areas, big schools and small schools, peer pressure constantly bombards adolescents’ lives, attacking an individual’s ability to make rational decisions.  As such, the resistance, the willpower to withstand peer pressure is an extremely crucial role in shaping a positive future.

Not only is Lacey dedicated to community leadership, but she has also followed her dream and has been a strong advocate about her platform as a motivational speaker for two years now. She is finishing up her Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication at Boise State University. After that Lacey plans to attend graduate school to earn my Masters in Counseling.

When not working or attending classes, Lacey volunteers her time wisely within the community. She has served as a Student Member of Student Conduct/Appellate Board, ASBSU Senator, Civic Leadership Residential College, Arts and Humanities Residential College, KBCI Advisory Board, Anti-Drug & Alcohol Advisory Board, and Lead Drum Major for Idaho All-Star Marching Band. Lacey has also volunteered with the Girl Scouts of America, 4-H, and the Boys and Girls Club of America. Giving back to the community is a huge part of her life; which is why Lacey lives by the words “Never give up on anybody. Miracles happen every day.” ~ Anonymous

In her spare time Lacey enjoys Dancing, Playing the Harp, Tennis, Swimming, Equestrian Riding, Sewing, Scrap booking, Crocheting, Baking, and Volunteering. Lacey works as the Director of the Pre-Ballet program at Ballet Idaho. She is also the Drum Major of the Blue Thunder Marching Band at BSU.

Lacey has a very loving family. Because of her family she is the person she is today. They have always guided her, supported her, and loved her. Lacey couldn’t describe, no matter how hard she tries, just how much they mean to her.

Lacey is looking forward to getting out into the communities and the state to promote her platform and the International Pageant system.
