The third time really was the charm for Brandi Townsend as she captured the title of Mrs. Idaho International 2010. Brandi has been actively involved as a volunteer for several non-profit organizations throughout Idaho communities, but knows as Mrs. Idaho International, she will have the opportunity to further this impact.
Brandi has worked with Success by Six over the past ten years and during her year as Mrs. Idaho International, she will work to further early childhood programs, education and childcare regulations through the Success by Six program. Half of Idaho’s at-risk children, as well as, at-risk children nationwide, are entering school two years behind their fellow classmates. The majority of these children never catch up. Due to recent cuts in early childhood programs, Idaho stands at a pivotal point. Brandi is looking forward to meeting with state and local government leaders throughout her year as Mrs. Idaho International hoping to show them the importance of these programs in Idaho and the best return on investment is when we invest in our children.
Brandi married her college sweetheart, Eli, and they just celebrated their tenth anniversary. Together they have three wonderful children. Five-year old Mikeeli is the oldest and is enjoying blazing trails in the Townsend family as a kindergartener. She shares Brandi’s love for horses and loves to ride with her mom. Two-year old twins, Jed and Lydia make sure there is never a dull moment in the Townsend household. Jed is all boy and can be found running, jumping and of course playing in the nearest mud puddle. Lydia, although a little princess, is becoming a little dare-devil. She takes after her mommy and is quite a ham for the camera.
Brandi graduated from Idaho State University with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance and minor in Computer Information Systems. While at Idaho State University, Brandi served as the national president for Business Professionals of America and was also a member of the Presentations Management Team that brought home a national championship to Idaho.
Brandi believes a family that plays together, stays together. She can be found on the lake with her family waterskiing during the summer and racing sleds down the hillside in the winter. Brandi, since a very young age, has had a passion for horses. She enjoys riding and training quarter horses. She loves her role-change in recent years from competitor, to mentor and coach as her children have started riding. She also enjoys photography, gardening and baking desserts…she makes one mean white-chocolate raspberry cheesecake.
